Asilia winners in the ATTA® for Action Awards

July 2, 2024 – Last night at Experience Africa in London, the winners of the ATTA® for Action Awards were announced and we were delighted to find out that Asilia Africa were winners of the Eco-innovation in Hospitality award.

This category recognises camps and lodges with innovative eco-friendly practices and technologies, who have effectively integrated renewable energy sources into their operations.

A belief that tourism should be used for good guides everything that Asilia does — from where they source energy and materials, to how they hire local staff and work alongside community and conservation programmes. Significant inventments in areas such as water conservation technology and solar power (approximately 75% of all power in Asilia camps is generated from solar) are key elements of comprehensive Climate-Related Risk Managament plans as Asilia prioritise the use of renewable energy, use of electric vehicles, and working with other organisations in monitoring and combating emissions.
