Reimagined Together.

We're bringing together responsible travel companies, local communities and expert partners to deliver long-term impact at scale

‘Nawiri’ is Kiswahili for ‘to flourish, thrive’, reflecting our vision of
creating a future where vital ecosystems and local communities thrive together

Today, we collectively employ close to 1,200 people spread across multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa. We are a leading contributor of funds that support national parks, community-led conservancies, and governments in their efforts to protect and manage globally relevant natural ecosystems. In addition, through our presence and work on the ground and the experiences we offer, we generate and deploy significant grant funding from individual and institutional donors.

Backed by long-term impact investors, we aspire to further scale up our responsible tourism and impact activities in the years ahead. The world we live in faces serious challenges including climate change, loss of natural habitat and continued poverty and lack of opportunities in rural Africa which can only be successfully addressed through bold initiatives at scale.

Nawiri Group has interests in a portfolio of leading responsible travel companies and supports a range of impact organizations and initiatives in some of the greatest, globally important natural wilderness areas on the African continent.

While each of our travel operators have their own distinct commercial approach and positioning, they all contribute to our overall vision and the focus of our non-profit impact activities: to create a future where vital natural ecosystems and local communities thrive together.

Impact & Sustainability Report

Our vision as NawiriGroup is to bring together responsible travel businesses, conservation initiatives, community support programs, and impact investors to help vital ecosystems and their custodian communities thrive. In 2023/24, we generated US$7.8m for nature protection. Additionally, we deployed US$2m in funding to support education and poverty reduction.

We publish our Impact and Sustainability Report as an annual checkpoint, a moment to reflect on our journey as a brand committed to genuine impact. To this end, each year, we reaffirm our approach, evaluate our progress, celebrate successes, and identify areas for improvement. For a deeper dive into our progress, please see the full report.
